About AimActok — A Practical AI Infrastructure Operation

I’m Xiao Yang (杨小), the person behind AimActok. I build, deploy, and document practical AI tools and self-hosted agents for people who don’t want to take anyone at their word about which AI tool to use.

AimActok isn’t a content farm. It’s a working AI infrastructure operation that publishes what I learn, including the things that don’t work.

What I Actually Do

Three things, in order of priority:

  1. Deploy AI agents. OpenClaw, Hermes, Claude Code, and custom AI setups — installed on your VPS or local machine in 30 minutes, with a 7-day support window. From $49. (See the Agent Deployment page for service tiers.)
  2. Write honest reviews. Every AI tool I recommend has been tested in real use, not just skimming the marketing page. I pay for these tools with my own money and write about what actually happens when you try to use them for real work — the bugs, the surprising cost, the moment the tool just stops working mid-task.   3. Document self-hosted infrastructure. OpenClaw, n8n, Ollama, Open WebUI, and similar projects — the kind of AI stack you can run on a $5 VPS with full control over your data. I write step-by-step guides from the actual installation logs. (See BYOD Platform.)

Why You Can Trust What I Write

The AI tools space is full of affiliate sites that rank for “best AI tool” and recommend whatever pays the highest commission. I do this differently:

  • I pay for the tools I review. Not sponsored content. Not “we got early access.” I buy the subscription, run the tool through real workflows, and report what I find.
  • I disclose affiliate relationships. Where I include an affiliate link, I mark it clearly at the end of the article and in a site-wide disclosure page. (See Disclosure.)
  • I show my work. Deployment guides include the actual terminal commands, the actual error messages I hit, and the actual fixes. If something doesn’t work the way I described, I’ll update the article and note the change.
  • I have skin in the game. I deploy these tools for paying customers. If a tool I recommend breaks, I get the support ticket. So I don’t recommend tools that break.

Who This Site Is For

AimActok is built for people who:

  • Want to self-host AI agents instead of paying $20/month to ChatGPT or Claude, especially if you have privacy concerns or want to integrate with your own tools.
  • Need honest, paid testing of AI tools — not the same “Top 10 AI Writers” listicle rewritten 50 times across the web.
  • Run a small team or solo business and want to use AI for actual work (writing, coding, customer support) without spending weeks evaluating 30 different tools.
  • Want one place that covers deployment, tools, and infrastructure — instead of jumping between YouTube tutorials, Reddit threads, and product pages.

What I Don’t Do

To save you time:

  • I don’t write sponsored reviews. If a company wants me to cover their tool, they get the same honest review as everyone else, with disclosure. Some companies have stopped responding when I told them this. That’s fine.
  • I don’t recommend tools I haven’t used. If a tool launches with a lot of hype but I haven’t put it through real work, it doesn’t go on the list. I might mention it in a news piece, but the recommendation list is reserved for tools I’ve actually used.
  • I don’t cover every AI tool. There are too many. I focus on the ones that have a real chance of being useful for a year or more, not the ones that get a 5x valuation bump and disappear in 6 months.

How I Write

Every article on AimActok follows a specific workflow I built to meet Google’s quality standards:

  • First-hand testing. Screenshots from the actual tool, terminal logs from the actual deployment, numbers from the actual benchmark.
  • Real costs. I report what I actually paid, not the “starting at” price on the marketing page.
  • Failure modes. I include the things that went wrong, not just the happy path. This is where most reviews fail — they only show the demo.
  • Last updated dates. Every article has a “last updated” date at the top. If I update an article with new information, the date moves forward.
  • External references. I link to the official documentation, the project’s GitHub, or a third-party research paper for any factual claim I make. No “according to recent reports” with no link.

The Stack Behind AimActok

To be transparent about what I’m running:

  • Hosting: Alibaba Cloud Hong Kong (WordPress 6.4 + MySQL 8.0 + Nginx)
  • SEO: Yoast SEO for sitemap, meta tags, and Schema markup
  • Content: Written in Markdown, published via WP REST API
  • Deployment services: OpenClaw, Hermes Web UI, Claude Code — all available for $49-$199 depending on scope
  • Tools I use to run this site: WordPress, VS Code, Google Search Console, GA4, Tavily, Exa (for research), and a few OpenClaw agents for automation
